Cell Phone Radiation Protection: The Definitive Guide

As time as evolved the distinction between natural life and technology has become more difficult to discern. Everywhere we go we see young children, teenagers, adults, and grandparents all walking around with cellphones. They’re inescapable! And who can blame us? Any information we need is available with a tap of a finger. Whether we need to crosscheck when our work meeting is, or connect with a friend across the world, or just play games to distract ourselves the cellphone is there. Not to mention, they’ve become necessary whether it’s because of your workplace, communication, etc. But the problem is that it’s the ones closest to us that betray us. This reliance on cellphones can come at a significantly steep price. Cellphones emit EMF radiation that has often been connected with a plethora of serious health concerns. Additionally, long term EMF radiation hasn’t been studied all that much due to the relative recency of this technology meaning that there may be some dreaded consequences in the years to come. And of course living in a world without a cellphone seems unrealistic since we need them for scheduling, health, and finances. But, there’s no need to panic. While we may not be able to do without cellphones completely, there are steps you can take to reduce your exposure to cell phone radiation. 

Why is Cell Phone Radiation Harmful? 

This is a fantastic question. The reason cell phone radiation is a problem is because cell phones emit a type of dangerous EMF radiation. However, radiation isn’t just emitted by your one cellphone there are cell phones belonging to other people and cell phone towers. Not to mention our own cellphones are often in our bags or purses — extremely close to our bodies. 

The Federal Department of Health and Human Services’ National Toxicology Program revealed in a study that there was evidence that cell phone radiation caused cancer and DNA damage in mice. Of course the study was conducted on 2G and 3G at the time but now that we’ve progressed to 5G, there’s reason to believe that the risks have increased. 

Plus, this study isn’t isolated. In 2011, a Swedish research team was able to look at instances of malignant brain tumors and compare them to cell phone usage. They found that the correlation between brain tumors and cellphone usage was statistically significant. What’s more concerning is that they found this risk increased if the person using the cellphone was younger than 20. 

What Can You Do? 

The number one thing you can do, if possible, is to turn off your cell phone at night. If your job circumstances or personal comfort don’t allow for this then the next best option is to create physical distance between you and your cellphone. For example, if you use your cellphone for an alarm then it would be best to keep it across the room from you or at the furthest point. The minimum distance is 6 feet to decrease EMF radiation absorption as much as possible. 

Another helpful tip is to place your phone in airplane mode as much as possible. When you turn off your WiFi and data you will essentially be lowering the overall EMF radiation output and thus decrease your EMF radiation input. Although this may sound difficult at first most entertainment such as music, movies, and games can be downloaded and interacted without WiFi. The reason for this is that the sending and receiving of these data signals generate RF-EMF radiation. 

But of course, while helpful, these tips alone cannot make a significant impact nor can they be helpful you need to actually use your cellphone. So how can you go about protecting yourself from EMF radiation coming from your cellphone? 

How do You Protect Yourself From Cell Phone Radiation? 

Since cell phones are the one thing that most people have on them at all times, the best way to reduce overall EMF radiation is to reduce the amount of EMF radiation absorbed through cellphone usage. Truth be told most of the time we use our cellphones we tend to be doing tasks that aren’t strictly necessary. Whether that’s social media, games, news, movies, or something else. So the number one recommendation is to use your phone only when necessary and reduce your contact with it. But along with that, this article will explore other concrete steps you can take to reduce EMF radiation from cellphones. 

1) Protect yourself against cell phone towers 

Before you do anything the first move you need to make is to locate your cell phone tower. Where there are towers there are cellphones. If you happen to enjoy strong signals from your home, you probably have a cell phone tower near you. Regardless of whether this is a 5G or 4G tower you should be aware that you will be exposed to RF-EMF radiation. To protect yourself form this exposure you should take some EMF protective paint and coat your windows. 2) Get a Protective Case 

Most of the time our cellphones are in our pockets or in our hands meaning there’s either skin to skin contact or at least prolonged exposure in close proximity. Essentially what happens is when Bluetooth is on, your phone is consistently searching for a signal to pair with meaning that it is also constantly emitting EMF radiation from this activity. When you turn off your Bluetooth you reduce some of the EMF radiation being emitted since this function is no longer being utilized. 

4) Try to Use a Headset 

Most of the time when we receive a phone call our automatic instinct is to place it near our ears. This can be especially harmful because your placing your phone right up against the skin on your head. There is very little preventing that radiation from seeking out your brain and causing direct damage. You need to try to create as much physical distance between your cellphone and your body during phone calls. We recommend using an air tube headset. 5) Do not Place the Phone on Your Body 

Continuing the previous thread, you need to create distance between yourself and the cellphone as much as possible, not just when you’re on a call. For example, its convenient to slip your phone into your pocket but this has been known to cause fertility issues. Why? Because you’re placing your phone right up against reproductive organs where EMF radiation can potentially harm. Thus, keeping your phone in a separate bag or at least turning it off before placing it in your pocket would be preferable. 

6) Create Distance 

Other times to make space between you and your cell phone is you’re texting, watching a movie, or playing a came. It’s quite common to hold it close to your face or place it on your lap. But now that the harmful relationship between proximity and usage has been established, you know that this is quite the problem. Try to place your phone on a table or hold it further away from your body when possible. The more space there is the better.

The truth is that it’s quite easy to dismiss the concern over EMF radiation as being overly paranoid since no definitive connection has been established. However, throughout the years more and more research has come out warning of the ever strengthening link between EMF radiation and dangerous health issues. Armoring up in any way you can is proving to be a smart choice. Turning off your cellphone, placing it in airplane mode, and leaving it to rest on the other side of the room are all good choices.
