5G is all over the news nowadays. You’ll find it in cellphone commercials, TV ads, and internet headlines. 5G is described as a game-changer when it comes to technology. It’s an upgrade that makes internet systems more accessible than ever. Every telecom facility desires to raise the 5G coverage they have, and worldwide. In essence, it’s hyped up, and there’s a great deal of interest revolving around it.

However…

All new technologies come with a fair share of dangers. And 5G technology is no exception to that rule. The old dangers of radiation harm are still lurking around. And they’re still an unresolved issue with older technologies (let alone newer ones). To give you an idea, there’s the issue of EMF radiation to worry about….

If “EMF radiation” sounds familiar to you, then it shouldn’t surprise you that RF waves (a type of EMF radiation) is used in the technology of 5G transmission. Basically, 5G is a barely tested technology. And our understanding of how it affects human health is minimal. Plus, existing research indicates that there might be a few worrisome results. But no worries! That’s what this guide’s for.

Below, we’ll explore 5G technology and its radiation problem. Plus, we’ll give you a few tips to safeguard yourself!

First – Explaining 5G In-Depth

5G is an acronym that stands for “5th wireless technology generation”. Any system that operates with a cellular network for data transmission should be 5G compatible. Those include cell phones, tablets, drones, security cameras and much more. Thus, 5G is usable everywhere. Private homeowners can benefit from it. And even businesses can use it for better data transmission.

5G is very likely to be a staple technology in a multitude of industries. It’ll be a standard in internet communication. And many business will be expected to discard older technologies for it.

How 5G Differs From Its Predecessors

The networks of 5G differ slightly from older versions. 5G increases transmission speed significantly. Also, it’s capable of accommodating higher loads of user traffic than 3G or 4G networks. This has to do with the frequency that 5G systems operate on. A Lower band of the 5G network works between 600MHz/700MHz.Those networks can transmit data across hundreds of square miles. Plus, they works well in areas that normally have low signal strength (like rural areas).

The 5G mid-band networks operate on 2.5GHz-3.5GHz. Their range includes a few kilometers. So unlike the previous type, those networks only work in urban areas. They’re also used in areas with large gatherings that require intensive internet usage.

The higher bands of 5G networks are even more demanding. They require antennas to operate (and the longer the required distance – the longer the antenna length needed). However, they provide the highest speed possible, while working at 24GHz-39GHz frequencies.

Basically, the major differing point between 5G and the other networks is the in-band wavelength. 5G operates in millimeter waves. Also, 3G and 4G networks operate at much lower frequencies, while 5G has a larger wave variance. This is the main cause for the 5G bands’ high speed. As a result, 5G lacks the data congestion that other networks have.

How Dangerous is 5G Technology?

5G networks were not extensively tested. Regardless, mid-band and low-band networks work at frequencies like those of current technologies. Thus, the risks in 5G technology aren’t much different from those of 3G or 4G. That is not a comforting thought with the known risks of 3G and 4G cellular networks.

A known risk of 5G technology is sperm motility. A study on male rates links extreme use of cellphone radiation to a loss of sperm count (source). We’d like to emphasize the aspect of “extreme cellphone” use here. After all, we do use our phones on a daily basis. And they’re almost always a staple communication tool. They’re used for other purposes too, such as time-tracking and research. Plus, they’re always in a close proximity to our bodies, since we do store them in our pockets.

Decades Worth of Research

That’s not all for the studies on risks. The research goes as far back as the late 1980s, with another one that shows risks to male rats. Another study that involved rats was to examine the exposure at 700 MHz range. And this happens to be in the range of 5G technology. The results show that exposure does put stress on the body. It puts stress on a living being’s heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory system (source).

What About In-Depth 5G Research?

There are a multitude of possible side-effects to mid and low bands waves. But unfortunately, there aren’t many studies with regard to this technology. And this makes the health issues that they bring unclear. However, according to a 2005 research, they may actually have some troubling effects on our health (source).

Small millimeter waves do affect our skins and tissues. And the results show that at sufficient intensities, they may cause damage to sensitive structures. But it’s necessary to note that the previous study doesn’t discuss 5G directly (being at least 15 years old).

The point is, with 5G technology, it’s hard to tell what happens when we’re exposed to it for prolonged periods of time. The studies available were mostly on rats. Also, exposure was limited to only a few hours/day (which doesn’t reflect reality). Why? The reason is, we don’t understand what happens to those who live in near proximity of any type of 5G antenna. Such individuals will be more exposed to constant radiation levels, and for a longer duration.

Thus, additional research is needed before this technology is spread on a worldwide level. However, we might not see any research of that kind in the near future.

What’s the US Government’s Stance on 5G?

The federal government supports 5G. It has removed several roadblocks to ease the launch of 5G technology. The result? Many safety regulations were revoked to hasten the rollout of 5G. And this led to an outrage on a national level, with local officials and citizens attempting to oppose the repeal of FCC regulations.

Example

A recent example of a high profile “resistance” case was in California, San Jose (source). This was done by a coalition of Californian communities, who asked for rights to decide where the telecom companies would position their antennas.

The US court for Appeals took this case for the 9th Circuit. But in the end, the court did backup the FCC’s new stance of 5G’s safety. Regardless of the case’s success/failure – it is indicative that there’s some type of local resistance against setting up 5G networks.

Another Event

The FCC and court aren’t the only driving forces behind legalizing 5G technology. Some state and local authorities are joining in the efforts. In 3/2019, the council of Portland city delivered a resolution encouraging the FCC to continue its 5G research – while promoting its set up within the community. As we can see, local and state governments are getting involved.

However, the efforts don’t seem to be sufficient. Until it’s obvious that the technology of 5G is safe, federal government regulations should be increased (especially if safety risks seem to develop over the long-term).

Does 5G Have Legal Issues Around it?

In the US, the main legal issue with 5G has to do with city-wide protection. A few local authorities see the harms of 5G technology, and they seek to protect their citizens from it. In that list we see examples such as “California, Mill Creek” that has set bans on 5G setups. And as a result, the FCC and federal government have put them under scrutiny.

The bans did trigger a series of FCC regulations that forcefully allow 5G networks to set up towers and antenna in local areas. This was made to speed up 5G tech adoption. And that’s the reason why we see the widespread domination of 5G today.

What Makes it a Legal Issue?

It’s a misapplication of federal law, and that’s according to the US Conference of the Mayors in 2018 (source). It’s wrong to subordinate a community’s local property for the development of technologies. And it’s wrong to construct telecom towers (which belong to private businesses) and on public areas – without a community’s permission. But that’s not the only 5G legal misapplication. Another one is in New York, Rochester (source). The community was sued by Verizon over prices that they charged for pole space utility.

Earlier, the FCC had passed a legislation forcing communities to charge a max number of a $270 per utility pole. Rochester charged $1,500 per pole, citing their own harsh winters plus increased maintenance demand as reasons.

Summarizing Legal Issues

The federal government is attempting to undermine legal authorities’ rights over public areas. In the Californian case, the FCC tried to pass regulations that forcefully robbed decision-making from local authorities. And in the Rochester case, it forced a price tag over pole areas that were unsustainable by the community.

In both situations, it’s obvious that there’s a lobbyist push for 5G implementation. It’s also obvious that the harshness of the federal US government is backed up by insufficient testing. And this might cause a nationwide health problem.

Is There Anyone Fighting Against the Forceful Spread of 5G?

Yes, there is. There are groups that fight against the spread of 5G.

One is the international EMF Scientist appeal (source). They’re a global group of academics that are actively urging the United Nations Environmental Program to reconsider the promotion of 5G technology. And this applies to both 4G and 5G use. Their letters highlight a multitude of facts with regards to 4 and 5G. And they cite the World Organizations International Association, where they see that emitted EMF radiations as carcinogens. The reason stressed is due to the placement of telephone antennas, and with little regard to the effects on nearby communities.

Average citizens are another group. They are also speaking out against 5G. One example is in May 2019, where New Yorkers in Long Island did hold an anti-5G rally. The rally was organized by the nonprofit Environmental Education Grassroots, which is dedicated to educating citizens on public health hazards. The group lists wireless radiation as one of its main focal points. As a result, the organization has gained widespread popularity and is at the forefront of fighting 5G radiation.

Also, a multitude of individuals has decided to stamp a ban hammer on 5G until further research proves its public safety. Even international politicians are getting involved in the struggle against 5G. One is Tonia Antoniazzi, who is a British member of the Parliament. In June 2019, Ms. Antoniazzi gave a speech in the Parliament advocating against the spread of 5G radiation, while citing its carcinogenic effects on people.

What Should the Average Person do?

The struggle seems too large for the average individual. With major corporations and the FCC at the forefront, it’s easy to let the federal government do what it wishes. And the smaller organizations fighting to prevent 5G don’t seem to be doing much either. So in that situation, what is the individual’s responsibility?

For starters, we recommend valuing your contributions. Understand that your vote matters, and it’s always an extra step towards protecting your community. Next, we recommend trying to follow court cases as much as possible.  Also, if a 5G antenna is getting placed near your house, consider calling a lawyer. It might be a scary step for you to take (and it might be expensive).

However, if you already have the funds then this is an amazing way to bring change. Because if the court does side against the FCC and telecommunication companies, it’d be a big blow to the industry, while being a monumental win to the anti-5G movement.

Finally, there are many anti-5G groups on social media that you can join. It’s a place to find support for the cause so that you don’t feel alone in the fight.

Additional Solutions

We recommend taking responsibility for securing yourself. The harms of 5G technology can be averted. And there is a multitude of consumer choices that make that job easier. Below, we’ll mention some of them. We’ll discuss some setups and products you can use to help you out!

Protecting Yourself From 5G EMF Radiation

There are a multitude of paths you can take to protect yourself. Some are expensive and take time to apply. Others are affordable, and you can try them right away. All the steps below may not be suitable for everyone. So we recommend sifting through each, and picking what suits you best. Also, the solutions you can apply differ based on your current situation. For example, the protective measures you need in a city may be more intensive than those of a rural area.

So to start off…

Locate the Closest 5G Tower to Your Home

You want to ensure that your home-life isn’t exposed to constant 5G radiation. To do that, you need a way to locate nearby 5G towers. We recommend checking local cell carrier coverage maps as a starting point. While you do that, you should keep in mind the differences between 5G and 5GE networks. 5GE is considered as a sub-network of 4G (where E refers to “Evolution”).

Now, if you do live near a 4G tower, then this should be an issue of its own. And the protective measures you’ll need might somewhat differ (to be discussed in another article). However, if you do locate a 5G tower that’s close to your home, then proceed with the following…

Test Your Exposure

There are tests you can use to check the levels of 5G radiation that reach your house. This may be a challenge for you, and the average EMF meter might not be of assistance. Why? It’s because ordinary EMF meters cannot detect the millimeter-wave frequency. Thus, you need a type of meter that can pick up frequencies from 29 GHz to 34GHz range.

An option we recommend is the spectrum analyzer. It’s a tool that can detect the millimeter-wave frequency. However, note that spectrum analyzers can expensive. So they aren’t the best option if you lack other applications for them.

If you know someone that owns the device, you can opt to borrow it from them. But, if you’re actually considering purchasing one, then Anritsu Field Master Pro should be a very good option. It’s a spectrum analyzer that can detect 54GHz and below. It’s perfect for 5G detection (and it might suit you if newer internet technologies get released).

As for using the analyzer, always be sure to watch out for millimeter frequencies only. Those are somewhat difficult to detect. And you’ll have to search for each room in your house for them. Why? It’s because signals from high-band 5G travel short distances. As a result, only a portion of your home might have 5G radiation without others.

Another Option – Use the Internet

You don’t need to check for the cellphone tower location on the paper. Nor do you need to ask around. You can pinpoint a cell tower location near your house by using third party websites. SCADAcore is an example of such services. It does supply the cell tower maps of the US. And this allows people to find cell towers plus the dead zones that are near your house.

Using this tool, you can input the latitude plus longitude of your location. Then, you can view cell tower locations within the locus of your home. Once you determine that your house is actually close to a 5G tower, it’s time to take action. And below are a few solutions you can apply…

Lifestyle Choices to Minimize 5G Exposure

Your main goal here is the set up a safe zone where 5G signals cannot penetrate. That’ll be your home (and specifically the rooms most vulnerable to radiation).

Yes, 5G radiation is outside your home too, and you’ll be exposed to it there. However, your overall level of being exposed indoors is much less. So, it is vital to note that safeguarding your home should be done quickly. Another thing you should do is restrict 5G radiation from home devices. This means reducing cellphone use, switching your landline devices, and going from wireless to wired internet.

Suggestion: Try EMF Paint

To protect yourself and your household from harmful radiation, we recommend purchasing EMF Paint. You’ll need a high-quality brand with sufficient blocking capabilities. EMF paint might be an expensive solution (since you need to paint your entire home). However, it’s an investment you make every home renovation (which might be once every few decades).

A brand we recommend is YShield. It’s an example of a high-quality product that prevents about 99% of frequencies. It blocks 18GHz, which is sufficient for most harmful radiation (but not the millimeter range). So it’s less effective than intended when blocking 5G.

Regardless, a good level of protection is better than none. Plus, you can apply multiple coats of this paint, effectively stacking the benefits. EMF paint such as YShield requires two coats minimum. Also, the paint does act as a primer, and this enables you to cover it in any color you want.

Also, note that the paint comes with metallic ingredients. So each wall you paint needs grounding, lest you risk electrocution problems. If you plan on using EMF paint, be sure to get a registered electrician’s help.

Why Is EMF Paint Effective?

Using EMF paint creates dead zones for incoming RF signals. Getting that paint is a drastic lifestyle option. After all, you’re likely repainting all the rooms in your home. And the paint itself is expensive, and you need savings before getting started. Going back to YShield paint as an example, you’ll pay $300 per 5-liter bucket. And if you do have a large house, you’ll need a multitude (costing you thousands of dollars).

Also, while the YShield paint kit costs about $30, you’ll need to buy a few of those as well. Yes, this solution is not cheap at all. However, if you’re willing to reduce the home exposure of 5G signals, then this would be one of your best solutions.

What About Other Options?

EMF paint aside, specially tailored blankets and barriers are other options you can buy. Let’s start with EMF barriers. This is a mobile block layer that you can place on a wall that’s facing a 5G tower. It effectively blocks out most of the radiation, all without requiring a full home renovation.

EMF blankets are a more personalized option. They’re items you can use during bedtime. Also, if you’re worried about the radiation in your bedroom, it’s a good nighttime option. Both EMF blankets and barriers are made using copper, nickel and aluminum blend. They’re also cheaper and are a more practical solution than a paint job.

The UltimaRadiantGUARD is an EMF barrier we recommend. The product does look like a big giant aluminum foil roll, so it’s easy to setup. It is easy for anyone to use, as you simply wrap it around your windows, under the roof panel, around the walls, and in other locations that require shielding.

Applying All the Previous Solutions at The Same Time

If you want to maximally protect yourself from 5G radiation, we recommend all the previous. Or at least, you can somewhat mix up the previous options.  Let’s say you painted the whole house with EMF paint. It still won’t block out 100% of the radiation. However, if you paint a certain wall in your house, and use EMF barriers on the other walls, then you might achieve an effective result. Adding in EMF blankets should be a staple solution. They block radiation for the 8 hours you spend sleeping, or half the time you spend at home.

Testing Results

We recommend (again) using a spectrum analyzer. You’ll need to take two readings in each room (once before painting/blocking a wall, and once after). Record the results before and after. And you can repeat this process with personal products (like blankets, EMF clothes, etc.). Keep an eye on the radiation range between 29 and 34 GHz. You want to see a reduction in readings after applying your solutions. And it should be a large percentage of the initial readings.

Also, note that it’s difficult getting the readings to a minimal level. After all, 5G technology is still new. And there aren’t many protective products on the market designed to reduce the radiation’s impact. So you’ll have to suffice with the previous solutions for now.

Going Green Is Way To Shield From 5G EMF Radiations

Yes, there are natural methods you can follow to reduce EMF radiation. And that would fall under the use of homeopathic remedies. They’re quite unorthodox, but we’ll list them below. And they’re not that expensive, so you can set them up instantly. Plus, they add health benefits to your life (instead of only suppressing EMF damages).

More Greenery in Your Home

If your home has front or backyards, you can use those to plant a few trees. Plants are excellent for air purification around your home. Specifically, you can use sunflowers which are excellent at dealing with toxic radiation. In fact, to this day, they’re used in major disaster sites (like the Chernobyl radiation leak).

But if you want a plant that works well indoors, you can try cacti. NASA has tested cactus plants within their international station before. And the result is, they found that cacti are effective for purifying air and producing oxygen. They also aren’t as maintenance intensive as sunflowers or trees. Plus, they don’t need that much water to grow. Thus, if you’re worried about 5G waves, then you might want to get some cacti in your home.

Another Solution – Shungite

Shungite is a stone based on carbon structures that abundantly exist in Russia. Location aside, you don’t need to be in Russia just to get your stores. After all, you can purchase them in local rock shops (or in some cosmetic stores). If you can’t find any store options near your location, you can always shop online. You’ll have a greater sample of rocks to look at. Plus, you can buy as many as you feel suits your needs.

Purchases aside, what makes Shungite a 5G solution? The solution is, they absorb away radiation in the surrounding air. This makes the store a key component for EMF-blocking products (like cell phone boxes and blankets). However, note that just a single stone isn’t enough to protect your whole house. Regardless, you can still place them around your windows, beside beds, all-around your premises. Plus, you can get custom kits made for your radiation-emitting devices. You can have someone design a Shungite phone case and even cages for your Wi-Fi system!

Supplements

You can try nutrients and various exotic foods to lower the impact of 5G on your body. Iodine supplements are a great example. They protect you from radiation in all its forms. So we highly recommend taking that supplement at least once per day.

Reishi mushrooms are another option to try. They can be taken as a Reishi supplement as they speed up the healing of your body while protecting it. Also, Reishi is considered a “superfood,” since it is capable of protection against Alzheimer’s, cancer and many other health problems. Plus, this mushroom can fight some of 5G’s harmful radiation effects, even after intensive direct exposure.

Important Note

The previous methods aren’t recommended by research. Although none of the alternative methods are rigorously tested within a scientific study, we see that they’re worth a shot. There’s anecdotal evidence that suggests the effectiveness of items like Shungite and Reishi. Plus, the previous items are an excellent addition to any long-term plan that safeguards you from EMF radiation.

In Conclusion…

This new technology 5G undoubtedly brings dangers alongside the technology evolution advantage. So you should always take precautionary steps while adapting 5G – both the things being done, and things that you can do and be a watchdog to be fully aware of policy changes and ongoing  legal mitigations

At home care including shielding your walls with EMF paint, wearing EMF protection clothing, installing EMF absorbing plants may help reducing exposure to 5G EMF radiation. And reishi mushroom is a classic homeopathic remedy that can purify and cleanse the body safeguarding from EMF radiations.

Do your job as part of community building to create a safe living environment. Raising voice to protest on installing 5G antennas in residential areas and do your part making local politicians aware of people’s concerns can be taken up by each individual easily. Be a change leader in creating social awareness on this subject matter.

The final advice is to embrace the 5g technology safely. Post facto analysis will not help. Be ready to take steps safeguarding from 5G EMF dangers, and take comfort in the fact that there are things you can do to fight back.
